Introducing Thin End of The Wedge — the debut single from South London dj/producer ELEANOR featuring some of the first ever remixes from Washington DC supergroup Black Rave Culture (Amal, James Bangura, DJ Nativesun).
We met Elle online. She was one of the first people outside our immediate friend group to post nice things about Sorry Records and has been a huge source of motivation and support ever since — a practice she lends not only to us but countless other artists in the North American underground. Elle’s a dedicated head who honestly knows more about what’s good in the NYC scene than most people in it themselves. We couldn’t be happier to have her be our first ever Sorry Records release from a non American artist.
And what an intro it is!! Thin End of The Wedge is a peak-time weapon of the highest degree; bursting with raw power and propulsive groove. Another certified Sorry Records big room Trojan Horse ripe for sweaty basements and summer festivals alike.
Elle also hosts a monthly Rinse FM show where she presents the best in contemporary high-energy club music from both sides of the pond. Prior to joining Rinse FM, Elle contributed guest mixes to Mall Grab and Teki Latex's shows on the station, while her previous show on Bristol's 1020 Radio focused on rising stars from North America’s various club scenes - with previous guests including Baltra, KAYY DRiZZ, DJ Wawa, WTCHCRFT, OSSX's Equiss and Black Rave Culture's Amal and DJ Nativesun.
Of course Black Rave Culture is the truth as well! Been obsessed with their fine-tuned, deep multi-genre mastery ever since their first release for MoMa Ready’s Haus of Altr. We actually booked them for the first time in NYC nearly two years ago to celebrate the release of that debut LP at Bossa Nova Civic Club for a stream during the reopening when dancing was a no go. Since then they’ve been rocking parties everywhere from Dweller Festival at Nowadays to Contact in Tokyo and Sustain-Release Year 8; sharing bills with legends such as Juan Atkins, DJ Stingray, Moodymann, Timmy Regisford, Rick Wilhite, Sherelle, and Carl Craig
Collectively and individually — Amal, James Bangura, and DJ Nativesun have produced some of the finest tracks in recent memory for labels such as Inciensio, World Building, Banoffee Pies, Towhead Recordings, Mister Saturday Night Records, 3024, ROOM, Art-E-Fax, !K7, Haus of Altr, and Ghostly. So glad to have not one but two (!!) slamming remixes from the Black Rave Culture crew on this project.

All the tracks are great but Stepper is the standout for me! pounding syncopated kicks, rolling handdrums and playful sample work, dancefloor destroyer. Jack G.
